A youth group, the Coalition of Imo Young Professionals (CIYP) has tipped the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) candidate, Samuel Anyanwu to win the November 4, Imo governorship election.
The CIYP, at a press briefing, in Abuja, said its survey indicated that majority of Imo citizen are yearning for a change and have identified Anyanwu as their preferred choice for the governorship seat.
The PDP candidate is seeking to unseat the incumbent governor, Hope Uzodimma, in the November 4 contest. However , Uzodimma, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) in the contest, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure he is re-elected for a second term.
Nevertheless, CIYP, who spoke through its National Coordinator or the coalition, Chukwuemeka Emmanuel, said there was need for a level playing field to ensure that the wishes of the people prevail.
Emmanuel said “for us in CIYP, judging from grassroots survey reports at our disposal, the good people of Imo State are seriously yearning for a change of
government through the November gubernatorial election. Most
Imolites are irreversibly tired of the current government in the State;
particularly because of its abysmal record in area of security of lives and
properties; as well as in the area of heavy-handedness.
